LVMH Announces 2022 Winners
LVMH PRIZE WINNER: S.S. DALEY
The LVMH Prize was awarded today in Paris to Steven Stokey of S.S. Daley. The award ceremony was held at the Foundation Louis Vuitton and presented by Oscar winner Cate Blanchett. The LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers is given to one talented designer each year and judged by by industry leaders including Jonathan Anderson, Kim Jones, Maria Grazia Chiuri, Nicolas Ghesquière, Stella McCartney, Delphine Arnault, Sidney Toledano, Nigo, Jean-Paul Claverie and Silvia Venturini Fendi. The prize winner is given an endowment of 300,000 euros and one year of mentorship under the LVMH group.
ORB360° x LVMH
The LVMH prize winners’ collections were shot by the ORB360° Model Unit following the award ceremony prize winner announcements. ORB360° Model Unit is an advanced imagery tool capturing 360° views of the model.
THE WINNERS
Steven Stokey gained notoriety when Harry Styles wore a shirt from Steven’s graduating menswear collection during his “Golden” music video. The designer has worked with other high-profile clientele like Emma Corrin and Josh O’Connor. His collection SS 2022 debut during London Fashion Week pushed the boundaries on reshaping hypermasculine dress for men.
Along with the LVMH Prize, The Karl Lagerfeld Prize was also awarded to not one but two young designers giving them an endowment of 150,000 euros and a year of mentorship with the LVMH group. This year’s winners of the Karl Lagerfeld Prize are ERL by Eli Russell Linnetz and WINNIE New York by Idris Balogun.
According to LVMH.com, “more than 1,900 candidates from all over the world have applied to the new edition of this competition.” Only 20 young brands are selected to the semi-finals and come from 13 different countries. These prizes are fervently pushing the narrative to support sustainable and slow-fashion brands and allowing young fashion designers a platform to display their designs to the high-fashion world.
