Digital Wearables and the Web3 World

Virtual try-ons are becoming a popular form of the online purchasing process. Perfect Report, the leading augmented reality and artificial intelligence provider, released their 2022 Q3 Trend report on the evolving consumer preference for online shopping.

Perfect report’s award-winning YouCam apps, featuring AR-powered beauty and fashion filters that allow users to try on clothing virtually, revealed a huge trend in the popularity of AR try-ons with B2B and B2C e-commerce channels. These types of Web3 applications have been proven to reduce cognitive dissonance among online shoppers and shows that there is a need in the market for digital wearables.

The latest report analyzed virtual try-ons big data from nine markets including: The United States, Britain, France, Germany, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Japan and China. Indications from the report revealed that people are more likely to purchase a product online if there is a virtual try-on method that allows real-time hyper realistic engaging experiences for the consumers.

The Web3 world continues to prove that people want to elevate the way they purchase goods and services online. Digital wearables and AR are becoming synonymous among online shoppers and are helping decrease return rates on items purchased.

An application incorporating digital wearable technology is Authentique. Authentique takes it a step further by using visual recognition software instead of RFID tagging. During the point-of-purchase of a luxury product, the Authentique app is used to create a digital wearable also known as an NFT. The NFT verifies the authenticity of the physical product through its provenance on the blockchain thus creating a more efficient way to resell products in the resale market.
